The AquaVENT heated, self-filling humidification chamber supplies the correct amount of water to the chamber, allowing it to begin producing steam quickly and maintain a constant steam flow.

First and foremost, it is important to note that this is a critical medical component, specifically designed for automatic water filling and active gas humidification in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation or high-flow therapy. In this regard, its primary function is to evaporate sterile water so that the air reaches the airways warm and humidified.

Basic Installation Steps

  • Assembly: First, press the heater’s protective plate and slide the chamber firmly onto the metal base.
  • Water Connection: Next, remove the protective caps from the ports and connect the supply line to the sterile water bag.
  • Gas Circuits: Connect the ventilator’s inspiratory line to the inlet port and the heated circuit leading to the patient to the outlet port.
  • Sensors: Finally, insert the “T”-shaped temperature probe into the guide slot located on the chamber itself.

Operating Temperature Modes

The chamber works in conjunction with the humidifier’s heating plate, supporting two types of medical therapy:

  • Invasive Mode: Maintains the chamber at 37 °C to ensure that the gas reaches the airway at 40 °C.
  • Non-Invasive / High-Flow Mode: Regulates the chamber to 31 °C to deliver the gas to the patient at 34 °C.
